for me it's gotta be the @superwhisper lifetime sub 🙂
Superwhisper on X
Talk about Superwhisper is mostly people recommending it by name for everyday dictation and citing the lifetime sub or free tier as why they stay. Complaints and comparisons are far fewer: bugs after updates, Japanese and French accuracy, and Wispr Flow as the rival it is weighed against most.

How do people feel about Superwhisper?
Most people in the section are fans: 60 of 71 recommend it by name or report happy daily use. The rest is small and specific — 5 people weigh it against a rival and stay in the middle, 4 left for another tool, 2 drifted away without settling.
People usually name it as the tool they use, often in reply to someone asking what to dictate with, and they describe typing replaced across email, Slack, product feedback and notes. One rambles and has it turn the rambling into a structured doc for an annual review. Speed is the recurring pitch: one posts weekly stats under "talking is faster than typing", and a first-time user reports local transcription as very fast. Payment is a reason to stay — one picks the lifetime sub as a favourite, another paid once at the very beginning — and one user says it should be on a recommended list by default because it changes how you work.
The mixed and disappointed posts are fewer and specific. A long-time Wispr Flow user trying to make it work finds it "marginally better at some things and worse at others"; a Japanese user testing it says document formatting in Japanese lags Typeless. One lifetime buyer moved to FluidVoice over latency, another switched to Typeless after conversion and line-break errors, and a third cloned it and cancelled the subscription. Two drifted: one cannot remember why they stopped, another will give it another shot.

Tried superwhiper a while back but didn't continue using it. I don't even remember why I stopped using you guys lol!
I've been using Wispr Flow since it dropped, and sadly, you're not wrong. I've been trying to make SuperWhisper work, but it's only marginally better at some things and worse at others. Wish I had an answer, but unfortunately, I'm going through the same struggle, and I've tried tons of alternatives as well.
Turns out talking is faster than typing. My weekly @superwhisper stats don't lie ✨

What do people complain about with Superwhisper?
No complaint dominates. Bugs and reliability is the largest theme, at 5 people, and the other three — non-English accuracy, iPhone pasting and the paywall — are level at 2, 2 and 2 people.
Bugs and reliability is a handful of separate faults rather than one fault. A user reports the hyperkey no longer toggling recording after version 3.0.2; another gets an audio-engine error on launch, which they call unusual, while everything else still works; someone notices the Play Store build is still 0.5.2; a Mac user on AirPods Pro finds Meetings with Teams captures only their own voice and leaves out the other participants; and a Japanese user says the S1-Voice model it keeps recommending is too inaccurate to use, with speech sometimes not becoming text.
The next three themes are level. One French speaker says dictation works well in English but is poor in French, and corrected the message three times by hand. On iPhone, two users describe recordings that stop pasting after three or four, with "no error messages or anything". On price, an Android user reinstalling for the new modes is told to upgrade to the pro model to keep dictating, and another asks why the app is trying to trick people into paying for dictation.

hey @superwhisper i've been a longtime subscriber of the App. iOS app it works fine three or four times, but by the fifth recording it just fails to paste any text. no error messages or anything, it just silently does nothing. super annoying behavior, please fix this.
@superwhisper Upon opening superwhisper today to play around with the meeting recording, it complained about my audio engine and popped this message up which I found unusual. Common? Everything seems to be working fine, never had Superwhisper have issues launching before.
I just read that super whisper now has modes for Android so I deleted my old version and reinstalled the new version and I'm still told that I have to update to pro model if I want to continue dictation.
@superwhisper @neilsuperduper Using the hyperkey alone to toggle recording stopped working in 3.0.2. Just me, or known issue?

What are the alternatives to Superwhisper?
Wispr Flow is what people weigh it against most: 8 people in the section, ahead of dictation built into other apps at 5 and Granola at 3. Beyond those, it is a long tail of rivals, one or two people each.
Wispr Flow is the largest comparison, and it runs both ways. One former Wispr Flow user calls Superwhisper "99% as good" and free; another suggests swapping Wispr Flow out to drop an Electron build. A Wispr Flow user trying to make Superwhisper work finds it "marginally better at some things and worse at others", and a newer user asks why Superwhisper over Wispr Flow at all.
Dictation built into other apps comes next, at 5 people, and the users in it are drawn to Superwhisper because the built-in option failed them: amp dictation lost a prompt with no apparent way to recover it, Claude voice is called awful, and users want speech-to-prompt that Codex and Claude Code lack.
Meetings is weighed against Granola by 3 people, one of whom says it fully replaced Granola while noting it does not pick up Zoom.
The rest is a tail, one or two people each: Typeless for Japanese formatting, Hex and Voiceboard as free or cheaper tries, Aqua Voice as pricier and no better, FluidVoice for near-zero latency, plus Handy, OpenWhispr, VoiceInk, Dragon's spoken commands, Voxtype and Willow Voice.

As much i've enjoyed using @superwhisper and bought a lifetime plan, I've spent the past two weeks or so using @FluidVoiceApp and have been absolutely delighted by the experience. Both apps have kinks that need to be resolved but it feels like @FluidVoiceApp has most of the user experience I'm looking for: it's incredibly fast with almost zero latence (one of my biggest gripes with @superwhisper), keeps your copy on your clipboard, transcription intelligence is insane, the custom dictionary is awesome and it has tons of other features I haven't even looked into yet. Most important of all, it's open-source and private unlike @WisprFlow which I got rid of with the stunt they pulled with people's data a few months ago. It really feels like the Ferrari of dictation apps
Second time amp dictation has looked like it’s working, then when I hit “Send” I get an error with no apparent way to recover the prompt. amp_bug_2H84fpzwpH6TYptajvbuKQ I really want to use the native tooling you guys provide, but I’ve got to keep using Superwhisper if there’s even a small chance my yapping doesn’t make it!

What do people ask about Superwhisper?
People mostly ask whether it is free (8 people), and the answers range from a good free plan to paying being worth it. Smaller numbers ask how good the S1 model is (2) and how to run it on Linux (2).
The free question turns up in reply to a recommendation, sometimes pointedly: is it free, otherwise why recommend it to someone who does not want to pay for dictation. Answers depend on who answers. Users say "it has a good free plan", or that they used the free tier for a while, or that it works for free; a former Wispr Flow user offers it as nearly as good and free. One paying user pushes the other way: the underlying models are free and run locally, but the usability of anything but the paid options is poor, so paying is worth it.
The S1 model is asked about by 2 people, usually before trying it — whether anyone has tried the S1 cloud model, and how well text cleanup works with it. 2 people ask how to run it on Linux after spotting a Superwhisper shortcut on Omarchy: "How does one pull that off on Omarchy??"

Is it free? Otherwise why are you recommending it to the guy who says he doesn't want to pay for dictation.
@superwhisper has a free tier that I used for a while
it has a good free plan
Was a wisprflow user - recently Downloaded superwhisper and it’s 99% as good fyi. And it’s free
Rebuilding from scratch and adding native speech engines is a big upgrade. Curious how well the text cleanup works with SuperWhisper S1

What do people want from Superwhisper?
Every wish here has one person behind it: 8 people asking for 8 different things, from Krisp-style noise removal to Meetings on Windows. Nothing is repeated enough to call a pattern.
One request is for de-noise like Krisp, from a user who already hacked their own with RNNNoise and now uses Superwhisper a lot for meetings.
The rest are short asks to the account. One wants a progress bar for the "what's the word" pause while you think mid-dictation. One wants to swipe in Superwhisper to fix names dictation keeps getting wrong. One asks for a way to import existing Wispr Flow meetings into Superwhisper Meetings, one for a wider window, and one for integrations with other apps such as Monarch Money. A daily Windows dictation user asks when Meetings comes to Windows, ready to move their note taker over because they like that it records locally with no bot in the call. One post just says it really wants an implant for Superwhisper.

I really want an implant for @superwhisper
Awesome! Can you guys please add de-noise similar to Krisp? Hacked my own with RNNNoise but I love Superwhisper, now I’m using it a lot more with meetings.
@superwhisper Meetings looks great, recording locally with no bot sitting in the call is exactly what I want. Any word on when it's coming to Windows? I use Superwhisper for dictation on my PC every day and I'm ready to switch my note taker over.
the "what's the word" pause deserves its own progress bar
swipe in superwhisper would be most useful for fixing names that dictation keeps getting wrong
