How do people feel about Framer?
Reception is warm: 38 of the section's 61 people simply like what Framer makes — templates, showcase pages, design details — with the AI agent and MCP the next most praised at 11. A small strand of 4 people asks whether Framer or its template marketplaces still matter.
Enthusiasm at this scale is mostly about what people built with it: a free template that comes with dark mode and Spanish localization, a hero photo chosen to feel candid rather than staged, a numbered process list that stacks cleanly on mobile, a testimonial block that keeps its breathing room. Small craft compliments make up the bulk — a serif headline running across an athlete photo, a cursor swappable from controls, a curved row of artwork cards on a laptop mockup. 38 people post in this register.
The AI agent and Claude MCP draw praise from 11 people: updating a site from a phone in traffic "genuinely feels like the future", telling Claude what to build and watching it land in Framer, and the MCP credited with catching errors so a site arrives closer to complete. 8 people praise the motion — variants switching smoothly, transitions they ask about. 4 people wonder whether it still matters, one asking flatly "is @framer dead?", a question others in the section push back on.

Variants animation in @framer will always be one of my best transition animation . The way it switches smoothly is Interesting 💯 I need more framer designers / developers in my space . Let’s connect
call me a weirdo but updating my site with @framer agent while stuck in traffic genuinely feels like the future
Excuse me, but @framer MCP is dope!!!! 😭 The fact that I can just tell Claude what I want and watch it happen directly in Framer is actually insane. What a time to be alive.
the numbered process list stacking that cleanly on mobile is a nice touch, and the testimonial block keeps all its breathing room

What do people complain about with Framer?
No single complaint dominates: the biggest are level at 3 people each — templates that only hold up with curated content, how hard selling templates is, and template names taken by publish time. Behind them sit 2-person themes on trust and bugs, including a site taken down around a launch.
Complaints are scattered rather than concentrated. 3 people say templates only look right with curated copy and photos: a buyer's longer headlines break components and breakpoints, and a messy CMS structure means the prettiest hero just hides the mess. 3 people find selling templates hard — one shipped two free components and one paid, and the paid one got 475 views and no installs; another calls the market crowded. 3 describe picking a name at the start and finding it gone at publish, with one saying "losing it at publish is rough".
Smaller themes cover platform trust and breakage. 2 people describe a site taken down around a launch and support that stayed silent for hours before the site was restored, and one asks about Node.js vulnerabilities. Safari problems cost real signups for one builder when a dropdown would not open. People also report sections going missing and image tiles that don't crop to match, a mobile pass needed on pages that looked fine on canvas, and agent deletes that cannot be undone.
- Templates don't hold up with real content4
- Site takedowns and slow support4
- Selling templates is hard3
- Template names get taken3
- Bugs and broken output3
- Missing or removed features3

A true story from my last 10 days on @framer Marketplace 👇 Shipped 3 components: 2 free and 1 paid. Every install came from the free ones. The paid Team Card got 475 views and 0 installs. So I'm making all my components free. Want the Team Card customised for your website? Grab it → link
cms structure decides it for me. if the collections are a mess, the prettiest hero just means the mess is harder to rip out
Hi bro, how do you handle template naming? I usually start building a template with a specific name in mind, but when I’m ready to publish it, I find out that the name is already taken.
No response yet, it's been hours
Thanks for stepping in and getting Tenet Capital restored. Really appreciate you acknowledging that a minor issue like this should have been a fix request first. As an independent creator, that kind of communication makes a huge difference, especially during a product launch. Glad to see Framer taking the feedback seriously. 🙏

What are the alternatives to Framer?
Comparing is barely a conversation here: 2 people weigh Framer against something else, one against Webflow and one against Claude.
The two comparisons are single posts rather than a theme. One person asks how Framer's own MCP will hold up against Webflow's, and mentions template marketplaces in the same breath. The other says they used to spend 90% of their time in Framer and now spend it with Claude instead — the same post filed under doubts about whether Framer still matters.
Nothing in the section compares pricing, hosting, or output quality between the tools, and no one describes switching back. Worth reading as a signal about the questions being asked, not as a scoreboard.

What do people ask about Framer?
Most questions ask how something was built: 14 of the section's 17 people want to know whether an effect is a Framer built-in or hand-coded, and how the interaction was wired. 3 ask how Framer's skills behave.
The dominant question is technique, asked of pages people admire: is that motion Framer's built-in effects or coded by hand, was the design made in Claude with the Framer MCP or edited in Framer, how was the frosted glass achieved — one answer points to WebGL, colour opacity and a background blur. Others ask whether a glass nav refracts the live page or is baked into renders, whether a tap or only hover triggers an effect, how a drawer stays smooth as its content changes, and how it works on a phone.
A smaller set asks about effort: which details needed the most manual cleanup after migrating a coded site, what part of an animation took the most iteration, what needed tweaking to get an interaction feeling right. 3 people ask how skills behave — whether a skill stops the agent overwriting pages, where the "Copy skill" button lives, how to adapt accessibility and motion skills to an existing design system.

- What needed the most manual work?4
- How do Framer skills work?3

Is that motion framer's built-in effects, or did you code it yourself?
I love it! Have you created the entire design using Claude Opus 5.5 and Framer MCP or did you make edits in Framer? Happy to learn this process.
This looks great! 🤌 How did you achieve this frosted glass effect? I'm really curious because I spent a lot of time trying to do it myself, but couldn't get it looking anywhere near this good.
WebGL is the way in general. Frosted comes from colour opacity and blurBG added.
Asking for a design and getting code back would drive me nuts. How much direction did the Framer one need?

Wishes· 6 posts· written 27 Oct
What do people want from Framer?
Wishes are template-creator housekeeping, nearly all raised one person at a time: the largest is 2 people wanting a pre-publish checklist built in to cut marketplace slop, and no other theme is bigger than one person.
The clearest want is template quality control: 2 people back a checklist plugin for publishing, one saying every template they publish already goes through a long checklist, another arguing Framer should integrate it as "a major solution for slop on the marketplace".
The rest are single asks. One creator wants the ability to reserve a template name while it is still a draft, as the old Creator Dashboard allowed, so it cannot be taken before publishing. Someone is waiting for a remix feature. A designer asks whether a logo-based loader component will support a reduced-motion option. And one wants the Framer MCP to bring designing and building closer together — the same person who, in reception, praises the MCP.
- Clean up template marketplace quality2
- Reserve a template name while it's a draft1
- Remix feature1
- Reduced-motion option1
- Bring designing and building closer1

I think if @framer would integrate this it would be a major solution for slop on the marketplace
every template i publish goes through a long checklist first, glad someone's turning it into a plugin.
Hey @Framer, could we bring back the ability to reserve a template name while it’s still in draft, like we could in the old Creator Dashboard? It’s frustrating to build a template from scratch with a name in mind, only to find out it’s already taken when you’re ready to publish. Being able to reserve the name early would be a huge help for creators! 🙏
waiting for remix
A logo-based loader sounds useful for keeping the brand present during a wait. Will the component support a reduced-motion option too?
