Krea on X
The largest group, 36 of 86 people, is plain approval: work posted, quality called insane. Precise one-element editing is the feature they name, open weights lead the asks at 6 people, and Nano Banana is the model most weighed against it.

How do people feel about Krea?
Most of the talk is plain approval: 36 of 59 people here just post work made with it or call it amazing. Behind them, precise editing is the named draw (7 people), with reaching Krea through other assistants and product shots level at 6 and 6 people.
Approval is flat and personal rather than comparative: people post pictures, short films and 3D references they made and call the quality "insane", say it "really works", or describe using it all the time in a workflow. Krea 3 is the version they name — 2k generations, edits in 8 seconds, a clean interface, one render to get the shot right.
7 people name precise editing as what won them: changing one element without repainting the rest, bounded regions, hex colour control, and a one-prompt removal of a bystander from a photo. 6 praise reaching Krea through other assistants, including an MCP inside Claude and ChatGPT and a Grok bot that renders images in chat, one of them a five-minute film written, shot and scored that way. 6 praise Krea 3 for e-commerce: product angles, consistency across a catalog, and the speed of it as a budget saver — level with the assistant group.
5 are interested but not converted, saying they will try it or wondering how it holds up on everyday prompts. 4 doubt the praise: that Elo scores measure preference rather than accuracy, that results fall short of the trailers, or that the open-source community was dropped.

bounded editing and hex color controls stand out...For designers, being able to change one element without disturbing the rest of the image is far more useful than generating another impressive variation.
I made a 5 minute short film with Claude Code + the @krea_ai MCP. Claude wrote the script, prompted every shot through Krea, cut it, scored it and mixed the sound. SYSTEM MEMORY: an AI remembers a home it never had.
pixel-perfect consistency across shots is the boring-but-critical win for catalogs
How do you like it compared to nano banana 2.1 or gpt imagen 3 or grok? Haven’t tried it yet!

What do people complain about with Krea?
There is no single biggest complaint: 6 people raise three, level at 2, 2 and 2 people each — cancelling takes too many clicks, logos and brand colours warp in product shots, and steady use runs into caps and API cost.
The complaints are few and unrelated, and each is raised by about the same number of people.
Two people describe cancelling as deliberately hard: one counts eight clicks to cancel a subscription and calls it "an adobe level shit", naming a growth service that uses dark patterns; the other files it as a dark pattern too.
Two worry that the details that make an image usable in a store are the ones that drift. A warped logo or a slightly wrong colour makes the photo untrustworthy, and in e-commerce one of them says that is "the whole game" — the image becomes unusable rather than merely imperfect.
Two raise the cost of steady use rather than of a single render: a usage limit in the way of regular work, and a hope that API latency and pricing stay reasonable once people wire it into production. One of them puts it plainly — the models are good, "except for the usage limit".
- Cancelling is a chore2
- Logos and colours drift2
- Caps and API costs2

dear folks from @krea_ai. requiring 8 clicks to cancel a subscription is an adobe level shit. i understand you adopted a super cool 'growth' service called churnkey that uses dark patterns, but maybe it's not your best decision. make your product better and people won't cancel
Product consistency is everything for ecomm. The second a logo warps nobody trusts the photo.
Product consistency is the whole game in e-commerce. One slightly wrong logo or color and the image is unusable.
they don't need this honestly, their models are good. except for the usage limit

What are the alternatives to Krea?
Nano Banana is the biggest comparison, at 3 of 8 people here, weighed on edits and on benchmark scores. Qwen and GPT Image are level behind at 2 and 2 people each, and one person puts Midjourney first and adds Krea for its agentic layers.
Nano Banana is weighed on edits and on scores. One user says nano banana makes them start over when a minor detail is wrong, while Krea 3 handles perspective changes and repeated edits without spoiling the image; another rates Krea 3 Ultra over nano banana pro for edits; a third notes Krea's Elo score landing one point behind nano banana 2.1, "remarkably close for an independent lab".
Qwen comes up as the model people are leaving or measuring against. One used Qwen Image 2.1 for university work and was disappointed at how it handled complex structures, and wants a better open model so the work stays reproducible; another asks whether Krea can edit at all and wants to see how it fares against Qwen.
With GPT Image, the comparison is uneasy: one person asks how Krea compares with it alongside nano banana and Grok, and another says that unless Krea is less censored than Image 2.5, it is hard to bother.
Midjourney gets one mention: first place, with Krea added to the list for what it does above the image model.
- Nano Banana3
- Qwen Image2
- GPT Image2
- Midjourney1

idk how many times with nano🍌 I have to 'start over' if it didn't get the minor details correct. even minor changes in perspective Krea 3 handles easily and multi-edits don't cook the image. @krea_ai
krea 3 ultra beating nano banana pro at image edits is a sentence i did not expect to type today
1151 Elo and one point behind nano banana 2.1 is remarkably close for an independent lab
Okey! This sounds great. I was using Qwen Image 2.1 for a study at the university I work. Was a bit disappointed with how it holds up (or not) with complex structures. 😅 Would be awesome to have a better (open) model here. (Open cause I want my work to be reproducible)
Open weights? Unless it's less censored than Imahe 2.5 it becomes hard to bother. Granted OpenAI censors more every day but still

Questions· 8 posts· written 27 Oct
What do people ask about Krea?
8 people ask four different things, level at 2, 2, 2 and 2 people each: which image models Krea runs, whether it is a paid subscription and where the units come out of, whether it holds up on hard images, and how a particular result was made.
No question is asked by more people than another; each of the four comes from about the same number.
The practical questions come first. People ask which image models are inside Krea, or which one another user runs there, and whether Krea is a paid subscription. When it runs from someone's own account inside another app, one user finds it unclear where the units are drawn from: "where the units come out of they still don't say".
Others test the limit of the output. One asks how it does with complex structures — towers, skyscrapers, complex bridges — and another whether it can generate above 2k.
A last pair want the method, not the verdict: the "secret sauce" to a logo-to-brand-identity technique, asked by a designer building portfolio work, and how much a noise overlay changed a result.
- What models does Krea use?2
- Is it paid, and where do credits go?2
- Will it hold up on hard images?2
- How do I get this result?2

@grok what image models does krea use?
you sign in with your own krea account, so it's your krea plan doing the work. where the units come out of they still don't say
How does it do with complex structures? (towers, skyscrapers, complex bridges and so on)
can it generate higher than 2k images?
TYSM! and ooo what is the secret sauce to the logo-to-brand-identity technique? that would be immensly helpful for me as a designer looking to generate new portfolio work (and a new folio site) 😍 dms open if better for you, ty if u can share how to make this happen!!

What do people want from Krea?
Open weights are the biggest ask, from 6 of 12 people: they want the model to download, run locally or keep work reproducible. Smaller asks are for finer control over one small change (2 people), plus one-off requests to drop bounding boxes, keep Turbo, support JSON output and let someone into early access.
The open-weights ask is the only one with a group behind it. People want the weights released so they can run the model themselves, one naming a 16GB VRAM GPU as the target, another waiting for Ultra on Hugging Face. The reasons given are practical: a university researcher wants work that stays reproducible and a model that copes with complex structures; others simply ask for open source, or to be woken when the weights drop.
Two want finer control over small fixes. One works on character art and says fixing small details still takes forever, calling editing "the biggest bottleneck in my workflow"; the other asks to change only a character's motion while the face, clothes and scene stay put, rather than generating many attempts.
The rest are single requests: don't use bounding boxes ("PLEASE, DO NOT USE BBOXES"), don't forget the Turbo version, support JSON as an option because it is powerful to work with, and a plain request for early access.
- Release open weights6
- Finer control for small fixes2
- No bounding boxes1
- Wants early access1
- Keep the Turbo version1
- JSON output option1

它最好能在我的 16GB VRAM GPU 上运行起来
waiting the ultra in hugging face
Yes please. Editing is the biggest bottleneck in my workflow right now. I generate a lot of character art and fixing small details still takes me forever. Would love to put this through real daily use and share feedback.
能在聊天里直接出图出视频挺方便。更想看下一轮:只改角色的动作,脸、衣服和场景能不能留住?创作经常就卡在这个“只改一点点”而不是疯狂抽卡。
