How do people feel about Rippling?
Fed up is the largest theme by people, with 8 of the 15 people here: they describe a repeat failure, unusable features, upsells and silent support, and some are ready to switch. Praise comes next, 4 people for the product and support and 3 for Rippling AI.
Fed up, 8 people: what wears people down is repetition. One person says Rippling "messed this up again" and asks who to switch to; another, told it had happened last year too, says they aren't sure Rippling understands. Others call the experience disastrous and weigh Gusto. In the same theme, a customer says ten days of support brought no answers and left their health coverage lapsing, someone reports upsell emails landing in spam, and a user argues that MDM and API features they already pay for should not need the AI add-on.
Loves it, 4 people, praises a responsive support team, a product one rates even better than its customer service, and how easy PTO requests are.
Rippling AI, 3 people, is the other praise theme: it named the processes eating memory, turned SQL from a Snowflake dashboard into a cleaner dashboard with summaries, and booked a new hire's intro meetings from an onboarding doc.
Satisfied with reservations, 1 person: a fast fix, but "our cortisol can't take another round of this."

Also having a disastrous experience with Rippling so far. Might switch to Gusto
I thought it's a SCAM and then I see it's the official page. Great way to capture my attention @Rippling . I have scheduled a call, thanks for valuing my time🥹
I'm sorry sir. It's too good. I told @Rippling AI I was running out of memory, and it told me which processes took the most memory. I also gave it some SQL from a Snowflake dashboard, and it produced a prettier dashboard with AI summaries of insights, and better graphs. At this pace, I'll only be able to work on hard problems in the future...
thx for fast support but i don't think our cortisol can take another round of this.

What do people complain about with Rippling?
Sales pressure and repeat failures are level at the top, 3 people each: calls that follow a trial or signup form, and problems that return after being fixed. CEO politics and IT setup restrictions are level behind them, 2 people each, with support and the AI add-on named by one person apiece.
Sales pressure, 3 people: someone who clicked the AI trial to avoid talking to a human got three calls in a row to book a call with a human about their AI. Another, who is a customer, says the team's emails now go to spam under too many aggressive upsell emails.
Repeat failures, 3 people: the loudest post in the section says Rippling "messed this up again" and asks who to switch to; a reply says the same thing happened last year, so they doubt Rippling understands, and a third adds "fool me once".
Politics, 2 people, is about the CEO: one asks why the CEO laments missing a vote for a candidate who dropped out over assault accusations, another asks whether Rippling supports sexual assault.
IT restrictions, 2 people: osquery installed on company devices that does nothing without paying more, and OIDC sign-in blocked without a vendor marketplace app.
Support, 1 person: ten days of unanswered questions and three days of silence. Gated features, 1 person: MDM, osquery and API access locked behind the AI subscription, with subscription prompts across the interface.
- Aggressive sales calls and upsells3
- Same problem happens again3
- CEO politics draw backlash2
- IT setup restrictions2
- Unresponsive support2
- Features gated behind the AI add-on2

@Rippling supports sexual assault?
I clicked on the @Rippling AI trial because I wanted to use AI instead of talking to a human. Naturally, a human called me 3 times in a row to schedule another call with a human to discuss their AI. I think they misunderstood the assignment.
Wait, @Rippling , you're installing osquery on my company's devices, but it does nothing unless I pay more money to you? Can you just not install osquery?
It's absolutely crazy how unusable @Rippling is becoming. Rippling now deploys osquery via its MDM, BUT it's only usable if you have... Rippling AI I pay for MDM I should get MDM features. I pay for API access, let me query it through your API.

What are the alternatives to Rippling?
Gusto is the name people here reach for, from 2 people, and neither treats it as a clear upgrade: one might switch to it, the other says it is also terrible. Warp is suggested once to move to, and Deel is named once beside Rippling rather than against it.
Of the 4 people in this section, 2 weigh Gusto, and without much hope: one person having a disastrous Rippling experience says they might switch to Gusto, and a reply answers that Gusto is "unfortunately also terrible". That leaves the switch open.
Someone else tells a frustrated customer to use Warp instead, promising their cortisol will decrease.
Deel appears on the other side of a comparison: a user asking why international employees can't have multiple bank accounts notes that Deel and Rippling both offer it — a point for Rippling, against Justworks.

What do people ask about Rippling?
One person asks whether Rippling is "still cool?" — the only question filed here, in a reply, with no reason given and no answer in the thread.
The section holds a single question, from 1 person, posted as a reply: whether Rippling is still cool. The post gives no reason for asking — no price change, incident or feature — and no answer follows it. Nothing else is asked in the posts filed here, so beyond that one check on whether Rippling is still cool, the questions people bring to it are not visible in this material.

What do people want from Rippling?
Two wishes, one person each: retirement options as good as Guideline's, which they are surprised Rippling doesn't offer, and more of the first user conference's agenda going to faster, real-time pay.
On retirement, 1 person asks who is building the next Guideline now that it has dropped non-Gusto customers, calls Vestwell's options terrible and says it doesn't allow the Vanguard funds they want, then says they are surprised Rippling doesn't offer something here — the wish is for a retirement option at Guideline's standard.
On pay, 1 person, writing about Rippling's first user conference, calls it a big milestone and says payroll is one of the few things every company runs on repeat, so they are curious how much of the agenda goes to faster, real time pay.
- Better retirement options1
- Real-time pay1

Who is building the next Guideline now that they kicked of all non-Gusto customers? Vestwell has terrible options / doesn't allow VITAX/VGT. Surprised @Rippling doesn't offer something here.
A first user conference is a big milestone. Payroll is one of the few things every company runs on repeat, so I'm curious how much of the agenda goes to faster, real time pay.
