Kalshi is a more accurate form of public polling, so I fully support Kalshi. Vivek's campaign fucked up, so he deserves the consequences.
Kalshi on X
Kalshi's odds are the argument: 54 people doubt them as a real signal and 45 cite them as one. Big money moving prices (27) and ads (16) lead the complaints, and Polymarket is what 37 people weigh it against.

How do people feel about Kalshi?
Two views are level at the top: 54 people doubt Kalshi's numbers as a real signal, and 45 cite them as one. Happy bettors and flat negatives come next, with a smaller group calling the whole thing gambling.
The doubt is about what a Kalshi price means. 54 people call its odds inaccurate, biased or not a real poll — "totally backwards", "so inaccurate" — and some argue a thin election market can be swayed by money, so the number shows who paid rather than who is likely to win. Against that, 45 people quote Kalshi prices approvingly as a read on sports, politics and macro: the Seahawks at 61%, a Fed hold at 93–94%, Democrats taking the Senate at 63%. One user calls it a more accurate form of public polling, and a few present it as the smart money on a race.
39 report their own bets and wins — $100 on Republicans holding the House for a $1,000 payoff, $9 on a puck — and treat the odds as easy money. 34 simply dislike it, some after a losing bet or a team spoiling a parlay, a couple say they deleted it. 22 call it gambling or a casino, and a few want it banned or regulated away.
- Doubts the numbers55
- Trusts its odds as a real signal55
- Happy user: bets, wins, praise40
- Plainly negative34
- Says it is just gambling23

Kalshi is so inaccurate, you’re NEVER right
I put $100 on Kalshi that the Republicans hold the house. Payoff is $1000.
Love this movie but hate Kalshi. So Kalshi please fuck off
Prediction markets should be banned. Or at least tightly regulated unlike the feckless regulations today. They are a cancer on society.

What do people complain about with Kalshi?
Big money moving the odds is the largest complaint, from 27 people, ahead of calling it a scam or fraud (16) and ad fatigue (16), which are level. The manipulation claims are about how the market behaves rather than faults users hit themselves.
Manipulation takes several shapes: billionaires throwing "a million or two" and swinging a race, money landing hours before a White House press secretary pick was announced, suspicious accounts backing one side of an esports match, and "follow the money" readings of election markets. 16 call the whole thing a scam, fraud or theft — sucker bets, a rug pull, "same scams" — and one bettor who lost a spread bet said the rules weren't clear the way Vegas rules are.
16 are annoyed by ads: a Kalshi ad opening inside an app aimed at teens, a pop-up on a timeline, celebrity endorsements, and gambling ads during games. 11 read the political markets as liberal propaganda or bought and paid for. Smaller groups report slow payouts and settlement, an app under maintenance at peak betting times, tennis bets not voided when a player retires, and being unable to use it in Ohio or without an international ID.

Polymarket and Kalshi are the piss prophets of political polling. A couple of billionaires can throw down a million or two and suddenly these two piss prophets swing to the other candidate or party “surging.”
Unbelievable match-fixing moment. The odds were favoring Kuusamo on both Kalshi and Polymarket throughout the entire match, and suspicious accounts were heavily backing Kuusamo as well. Then suddenly, at 9–3, first @tapewaare and then @GoodiniCS disconnected. Macops (the manager?) and Natosaphix subbed in and somehow managed to win—with a FACEIT Level 8 manager and Nato playing as stand-ins. Matchfixers LOST A LOT.
Haha taking sucker bets to rug pull! That’s what casinos do!!!
This is predatory AF. You get this Kalshi ad when you open up the Perfect Tidy app. An app aimed at 13+ teens and YA.
kalshi is fucking liberal propaganda

What are the alternatives to Kalshi?
Polymarket is the comparison that dominates: 37 of the section's 57 people weigh Kalshi against it, usually on where the same price sits. Sportsbooks, Novig and PrizePicks are named by a handful each, more often on prices than on rules.
The Polymarket talk is mostly price-matching on the same event: the Texas Senate race at 62.5–63¢ on Kalshi and 62.5–64% on Polymarket, a Fed hold at 94% on both, Michigan's Republican-flip contract at 32/33 on Kalshi against 30/31. Some use the pair to arbitrage the gap; others warn the two shouldn't be compared on volume without putting notional and cash traded on the same basis, or note that Polymarket is now suing Ohio over its licensing model while Kalshi argues federal preemption, after a circuit court ruled against it. Both are also cited for a Brazil runoff they had near 80% for Bolsonaro before Lula won.
9 weigh sportsbooks, on price: one price check found Kalshi behind every book on a spread, another bettor paired Kalshi's cheap "No" against DraftKings for a profit, and one regretted a DraftKings Senate bet that Kalshi had cheaper. 5 mention Novig, over retirements not being voided and over fees; a few name PrizePicks, Robinhood and PredictIt.

Prediction markets currently price James Talarico (D) at about 63% to win the Texas Senate race against Ken Paxton (R). As of early October 12, 2026 (consistent with October 11 readings): Kalshi: Talarico 62.5–63¢ (implied 63% probability); Paxton ~36.5–38¢. Polymarket: Similar range, recently reported around 62.5–64% for Talarico. His price had peaked near 66–67% earlier in the month, dipped a few points during a short flu-related pause in in-person campaigning (which Republicans highlighted), and has stabilized back near 63%. Supporting context: Recent polls have generally shown Talarico with small leads (typically +1 to +6). RealClearPolitics’ average sits around Talarico +3. A Trafalgar poll (Oct. 6–8) had him at 47.1%–43.6%. Ratings diverge from the markets: Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball: Toss-up. Inside Elections: Lean Republican. Markets are pricing a clearer edge for Talarico than some traditional handicappers, factoring in the national environment, Paxton’s favorability, and other issues, fundraising, and turnout models. Texas polls have historically understated Republicans in recent cycles, which some models still weigh heavily. The race remains competitive with less than a month until Election Day (November 3).
Not one direction historically: 2016 and 2020 polls understated Republicans, 2022 understated Democrats (the red wave that didn't come). That's why the books don't treat the 3.5-pt-miss map as the base case. Michigan's Republican-flip contract is 30/31 on Polymarket and 32/33 on Kalshi this morning: a miss priced as possible, not expected.
D’Andre Swift 70+ rushing yards. Two completely different platforms pricing the same outcome differently. Kalshi had “No” at a discount. DraftKings had “Yes” at +225. I bet both sides. Swift fell short of 70 yards. The Kalshi slip cashed for +$80.95. The DraftKings slip lost. Net result: still green. 💰 This is what most people do not understand. It does not matter what Swift does. It does not matter what any player does. When you have both outcomes covered at the right prices, the scoreboard is irrelevant before the game even kicks off. The @OddsJam tool finds these gaps across every platform in real time so you never have to.
I think I may switch to fanduel for some my tennis bets, Kalshi doesn't void when a player retires that's a huge issue.
im already signed up! i appreciate it tho💯 i just couldn’t withdraw my money from robinhood so i had to place it on there. i definitely would have placed it on kalshi to get better odds, it would’ve been a 4-5k cash if i put my 28$ on kalshi 🤦🏻♂️ but im still happy i put it in 🎯

Questions· 27 posts· written 27 Oct
What do people ask about Kalshi?
The largest group of questions, 9 people, asks what Kalshi has priced on an event; 8 ask how something on it works, and 6 whether a market exists at all.
The price requests are short and about anything: what Kalshi says about a firing squad firing blanks, a ceasefire, a Shakur fight, Rays against Brewers, the free-throw over/under in a WNBA game, whether Saylor goes another week without buying bitcoin.
The how-to questions are about mechanics: how to take the spread, what "threads" is, how to sign up, where a link or an article about the IPO is, why the app can't find their location, whether to double down on a bet, and whether election fraud in Brazil means losing a bet there.
The existence questions ask for markets that don't seem to be listed — shorting a Broadway show, a Tesla launch date, a model going rogue. A few ask whether the odds and users are real or bots, and one asks whether it is legal or under investigation.
- What are the odds on this?9
- How do I use this feature?8
- Does a market exist for this?6
- Are the odds real or bots?3
- Is it legal or under investigation?1

Do we get a Shakur fight before the game is released? What’s the numbers? @Kalshi
How do you take the spread on Kalshi?
Can we place a bet on Kalshi that within a year the anthropic model goes fully rogue and attempts to kill the CEO? Not that I want to see that happen, but I think the smart money is on his demise.
Yes, but who is betting on Kalshi? Is the average middle class person in Effingham, Illinois betting on Kalshi?
So if there's election fraud, do I still lose my bet kn Brazil's election, on @Kalshi ? 🤔

What do people want from Kalshi?
The wishes are small and scattered: 3 people want more markets, mainly NBA player props, and no other ask has more than two people behind it.
The market requests name gaps: NBA player props described as "ghost towns", a bet that a listed player won't play, and the complaint that Kalshi "always has one missing" in a set of markets.
The rest are one-offs. Two want availability widened — across the entire United States, and location restrictions on local and statewide races while national markets stay open to US customers only. Two want small product fixes: a different email sign-in provider, and voice chat played at 3x speed. One wants election markets frozen at 6am local time on election day, after the Brazil market swung to 80% for Bolsonaro before Lula won.
- Add more markets3
- Make it available everywhere2
- Small product fixes2
- Freeze election markets before results1

Can you @Kalshi nerds make some markets in nba player props? What’s going on with these, they’re ghost towns
Kalshi always has one missing smh
It should be across the entire United States
Kalshi should apply location restrictions to local and statewide races. Keep national open to US customers only.
Need new auth provider email
