Jotform on X

The conversation is shop sellers running pre-orders through Jotform: they praise tidy forms and automatic totals, but more people post about what breaks — crashes, lost entries, missing invoices, monthly caps. Google Forms, or a site of their own, is the comparison.

How do people feel about Jotform?

Frustration is the single biggest note: 9 people are fed up with Jotform, several without naming a fault. Praise is just behind at 8 people, and 7 more are still deciding whether to try it.

Fed-up posts range from a flat "i hate jotform" to someone asking whether anyone hates it as much as they do, and calling it the most unprofessional company they have dealt with. Some name a concrete fault — entries gone after a refresh, stock they could not get hold of, a builder they say leans too much on AI.

Praise is about finish and ease: a submission sheet with cute colours, forms a beginner can build, a seller saying it is easier than Google Forms for shop use. People cite WhatsApp notifications that ended hourly form-checking, a workflow that fires the moment a client submits, and prepayment through the form feeling safer for sellers who print up front. Several of the undecided run shops: one is moving to Jotform for their next pre-order after sorting orders in DMs, another is still choosing between it and Google Forms. 4 sellers run reminders, invoices and shipping receipts through it; 2 who left manual invoices say totals and payment now come out on their own.

What do people complain about with Jotform?

Glitches are the biggest complaint: 11 people describe forms crashing, failing to load or dropping entries, and 8 say confirmation emails or invoices never arrive. 6 sellers hit the monthly cap, which disables forms mid-sale.

Glitch reports are the largest group: forms crashed while a seller was entering products, listed items vanished from a finished form, a refresh wiped everything a buyer had typed, and orders failed to turn up in the recap. One enterprise user asked whether a second outage was coming after two mornings of failures around the same time; a form that would not load led a buyer to submit twice.

8 people describe messages that never arrived: no confirmation after paying, no invoice two days after ordering, a shipping-form email missing for months, PDF attachments over 5MB undelivered, and a trivia email that went out before its start time. 6 sellers hit the cap — forms "reached its monthly limit", showed "overquota" or were disabled — so they fell back to DMs or opened a new account; one first-time user did not know a cap could disable the account. Setup is the other friction: not tech-savvy, errors they cannot fix, too many items to manage, no idea how to close a form. A few name price — premium features at €30–60 a month — or being locked out of their account.

  • Forms glitch and lose entries11
  • Emails and invoices go missing8
  • Fiddly to set up and run7
  • Monthly limit reached7
  • Paying through the form4
  • Account and access trouble4

What are the alternatives to Jotform?

Google Forms is the comparison that comes up most — 5 people weigh the two — and it splits: some find Jotform easier for sellers, others pick Google Forms. 3 people go their own way and build or use their own coded site for orders.

5 people weigh Jotform against Google Forms. One tried Jotform and still prefers Google Forms for a location-based research survey; a seller recommends Jotform to anyone who finds Google Forms a headache, because it is easy to build and easy for clients to reach; another is still "figuring out" which to use. 3 people go their own way: one shows a pre-order site coded from scratch, another is finishing a website so they no longer have to keep making Jotform forms, and a third contrasts a self-built webapp with a company paying for Jotform.

An automation builder moved a customer-support routing assignment off the n8n Form Trigger and onto Jotform, noting the workflow logic stayed intact, and a reply calls it "the tool you know beats the fancy one". Singly: a seller runs a shop through Jotform as a stand-in for Tokopedia; someone suggests Shopee instead; a payment setup that reconciles automatically where the Jotform form did not; and a seller moving to Jotform after another form tool flagged theirs twice.

  • Google Forms5
  • Own coded website3
  • n8n Form Trigger3
  • Shopee1
  • Tokopedia1
  • Payments that reconcile automatically1

One of the most important skills I'm developing in AI automation isn't learning more tools. It's being flexible with the tools I already have. For my latest Customer Support Request Routing assignment, I initially used the n8n Form Trigger. I decided to switch it to Jotform...

Questions· 8 posts from 7 people· written 27 Oct

What do people ask about Jotform?

The invoice is what buyers ask about: 2 people, across 3 posts, want to know whether it is Jotform's own invoice or a separate one. Two other questions are level with it at 2 people — what else exists besides Jotform, and whether it can do a specific job.

The invoice question comes from buyers of pickup orders: whether the invoice is Jotform's own or a separate one, and whether a batch's invoices were all sent or the only record is the pickup code from the form. It is asked of one seller after another, 2 people across 3 posts.

The other questions are level with it. 2 people ask what else is out there — one wants free or cheap tools for a location-based survey and has already tried Jotform, another simply asks what other options exist besides it. 2 people ask whether it can do a specific job: set how much stock is available, and whether there is a Pro plan. One asks for the do's and don'ts of running a form, and why they keep getting it wrong.

  • What else is there besides Jotform?2
  • Can it do what I need?2
  • How do I stop messing up my form?1

Wishes· 3 posts from 2 people· written 27 Oct

What do people want from Jotform?

Two wishes, one person each: order data coming out of Jotform already split into its own columns instead of one merged cell, and not having to build a new Jotform form for every sale.

One seller wants order data to come out of Jotform already split up. Downloading a CSV puts product type, quantity and price into a single cell, so separating them stays manual work, and they ask whether there is a more efficient way — 1 person across 2 posts, the second checking whether that separation can only be done by hand.

The other wish is about repetition: a seller finishing their own website so they no longer have to keep building a Jotform form for each drop, 1 person in 1 post.

Both echo complaints filed under problems: CSV product data merged into one cell, with PDF templates from Jotform also losing some parts, and sellers moving to a coded site of their own.

  • Separate order data without handwork2
  • Don't want to rebuild the form each time1

Wait huh how do you go from Jotform data to invoice... TAT? M... manually? Tadi gue download CSV pun data produk yang dibelinya kinda merged into one cell. Sebenernya gapapa sih, but it'll take time jadi I wonder apa ada cara yang lebih efisien untuks separasi datanya.
