I switched this workshop deck from bold multicolor to blue and white in Gamma 5. Styles changed the fonts and contrast too. I wanted the recording steps to be easier to follow. Which would you teach from, A or B? @GammaApp

How do people feel about Gamma?
Praise leads: 20 people say they love Gamma, call it the best, or recommend it outright, the largest group in the section. Next are 15 people who post Gamma 5 style variants side by side and ask which one reads better — comparison, not complaint.
Unqualified praise is the largest group: 20 people say they love Gamma, name it when someone asks for a presentation tool, or post a deck it built — an explainer for a company, a media kit, a portfolio that led to a role. 15 people are doing something different: they put two or three Gamma 5 style variants side by side and ask which one to send or teach from, and the replies split between readability and personality, with no one settling it.
13 people praise the look specifically, saying decks come out with their own style rather than generic AI output; one says uploading a guide made the next deck pick up its forest-green backgrounds and cream text, and others describe importing a deck as a style reference. 9 describe the agent asking questions and showing an editable outline before it designs anything, and 7 credit time saved — a rough doc, transcript or set of meeting notes becoming a shareable deck, one counting "from rough idea to finished deck" in 11 minutes.

A company with zero employees says it's about to hit a ~$25M run rate, 340 days in. I gave @gammaapp one prompt to explain it to me like a founder. Here's the deck it built 🧵
I uploaded one Ulobex guide to Gamma 5. The next deck picked up its forest-green backgrounds and cream text. A handoff deck still represents our agency, so I wanted it to feel connected to the original. Reference vs result below. @GammaApp
Before Gamma 5 designed a single slide, its Agent showed me an outline I could edit. I used it to build a guide to choosing an AI tool. Here’s the finished deck, and how I worked through the story before choosing the design. @GammaApp
Gamma 5 (@gammaapp) just removed the reason I rarely post on YouTube every video meant building a deck first to walk through Here’s the exact workflow I used to build a YouTube deck for our creator platform using Gamma 5:

What do people complain about with Gamma?
The main complaint is hand work: 3 people say a usable deck still needs tidying, overbuilding, or old decks copied over slide by slide. Behind that, 2 people could not get in at all on one day, and 1 person counted what generations cost in credits.
Complaints here are few and specific rather than a pattern. 3 people describe the output as a starting point: one says Gamma "turns a rough outline into a deck you then tidy up by hand", another that an agent skipped the outline and designed 41 slides for a deck that needed 6.
The sharpest is about old work: a user says existing decks are "stranded" on the legacy editor, that duplicating them doesn't work, and that after 30-40 minutes the only fix was copying each slide into a new deck by hand — asking for migration or at least guidance.
2 people posted on the same day about access, one saying the system was down all day and hurting their production, the other unable to log in for 24 hours. 1 person counted credits instead: 1000 free ones, 10 credits per two images, and a translation they called terrible.

Monday, and someone wants "a few slides" by noon. @GammaApp turns a rough outline into a deck you then tidy up by hand. Free accounts get 400 AI credits once, and they don't refill, so it's more of a trial. Would you let AI write the first draft of your slides?
Outline first is the right order. My AI agent skipped that step once and designed 41 slides for a deck that needed 6.
@thisisgrantlee , @GammaApp this is v.frustrating. Promotional V5 email is rah rah on Freeform editing (big gap, very needed, I'm excited); Meanwhile the feature is nowhere to be found in the App, and Gamma agent can't find it either (see screenshot). Root Cause: Existing Gammas
Por isso que está caindo o sistema o dia inteiro? Está prejudicando toda minha produção de hoje. :(
Я не могу зайти на гамма уже 24 часа. В чем дело?

What are the alternatives to Gamma?
Claude is the comparison that comes up most, named by 2 people; both weigh it against Gamma for decks and neither switches away, one preferring Gamma's visual quality. Separately, 1 person notes Gamma Classic is still reachable from the dashboard and says they never went back.
Talk of rivals is thin here — 3 posts from 3 people — so it reads as individual comparisons rather than a trend.
2 people bring up Claude. One had it recommended and planned to test Gamma alongside it; the other, replying in the same thread, said Claude is limited too, and that on visual quality they prefer Gamma. No one describes leaving Gamma for another tool.
1 person addresses the switch to the new version: all your previous work stays in your account and Gamma Classic is still available from the dashboard, and they say they have not gone back to it.

What do people ask about Gamma?
Questions are about control after the fact. Most ask about styling — 3 people want to know how closely a deck follows a reference and whether presets can be mixed. Next, 2 people ask about editing after generation: revisiting the outline, and how much adjusting the first draft needs.
Every question here is asked as a reply under someone's finished deck, not as a general enquiry, and none is answered in the posts.
3 people ask about styling. They want to know whether a reference is followed for fonts as well as colours and layout, whether a reference with several different slide layouts would carry over, and whether colours from one preset can be kept while using another preset's font.
2 people ask about what happens after the first generation: one whether the outline can be revisited once the deck exists, the other how much adjustment the first draft needed in practice.

Does it follow the reference fonts too, or mainly the colors and layout?
Would it handle a reference with several different slide layouts?
Can you keep the colors from one preset and use another font?
Can you revisit the outline after generating the deck?
How much did you adjust after the first generation?
Wishes· 1 post· written 27 Oct
What do people want from Gamma?
One wish is on record: 1 person wants existing decks carried over into Gamma 5, or at least told how to get there, so old work isn't stuck on the legacy editor.
This is a single post, so it is one user's wish rather than a pattern — 1 post from 1 person.
They had expected Freeform editing in Gamma 5 and could not find it, and say the agent could not find it either. Their diagnosis is that existing decks only open the legacy experience, so they ask for a data migration, and, if fidelity can't be preserved, at least guidance on how to proceed. Duplicating old decks didn't work for them; copying each slide into a new deck by hand was the only route they found.
