How do people feel about Base44?
Enthusiasm outweighs criticism: 22 of the 43 people here like or recommend Base44, and 9 praise how easily non-coders turn a description into a working app. The disappointed are a small tail: 4 people call the output badly made or useless.
The most common post is a launch announcement: builders post "I've built X with @base44" for job boards, football-team apps, shop-tab trackers, inventory systems and games, and when someone asks what to use, users answer with the name alone. One calls it "my goat". Others name specifics: a security scan that suggested and applied real fixes for backend vulnerabilities, custom domains that make a project look professional, workflows running every fifteen minutes.
Speed and price are the concrete wins. An app typed out and live the same morning; a website rebuilt for under $1,000 after a $50,000 quote; a free plan with 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month. For 2 people, owning and exporting the code matters, one of them glad to skip a "vendor lock-in tax".
9 people credit building without a dev team or programming knowledge — one says it was the first time they turned a real problem into working software just by describing it in plain English.
The negative verdicts are few and blunt: that real software products can't be built with these tools after weeks of trying, that Base44 is badly made, or, from one long-time user, a sigh of having put up with it.

had this idea for my saturday football group for years and never built it typed it into base44 this morning. fixtures, an i'm in button, live headcount, the pitch fee split automatically kickoff. a real app in minutes @base44 link
Building Shop&SellTab on @Base44 was the first time I actually turned a real problem into a working software just by describing it in plain English. A friend in Africa needed a way to track a prepaid store tab with a shop owner he trusts but still wanted proper accountability.
..The dual-approval ledger, catalogue and balance logic all came together through conversation rather than me writing code. The biggest surprise was running a security scan halfway through and watching Base44 actually suggest & apply real fixes for backend vulnerabilities when…
My old website design sucked and was constantly failing. I teamed up with a programmer and used Base44 to rebuild it for under $1,000. It's now a night-and-day difference, a process that used to cost $50,000! #WebDesign #TechTips

What do people complain about with Base44?
The gripes are scattered and small. The loudest is a framing, not a bug: 4 people describe Base44's growth as a get-rich "biz op" funnel pushed by affiliates and constant ads. Billing and credits, build breakage, output that won't reach production and unanswered support each come from three people or fewer.
The biz-op complaint is the one with reach: a post arguing that Base44 and Lovable are chasing the same market as Shopify by selling consumers the idea of getting rich, with affiliates pushing it. Others pick up the phrase, ask whether a peer's strategy is "the same play base44 has been running", and one says Base44's ads come up so often they have the script memorized.
The rest is practical. On billing, one subscriber says they cancelled two months ago and payment attempts continue; another explains that replies against the built-in model bill the user's own integration credits, with a group chat paying once per personality, and another warns that AI file extraction burns credits fast. On bugs: entity workflows fire on every record change, so each needs a condition and none should update the record that triggers it, or you get an infinite loop; one cannot log into their Android app; one cannot import files from Claude.
On output, builders say apps ship with "auth vulns" and that operators are stuck with something they can't put into production or sell. On support, a paying user asks for one human to read a two-week-old ticket, and challenge entrants never got their access code.
- Hypey biz-op marketing4
- Billing and credits3
- Bugs and gotchas3
- Output isn't production-grade3
- No support reply, no code3

If you want a $100B startup, this is one of the best markets to be in: BizOpp. Shopify is the biggest player in it. Base44 and Lovable are taking a shot at it too. The idea is to market an outcome, and make the SaaS the tool you need to get it. Put bluntly, all these companies
Entity workflows in @base44 fire on every record change. Every single one. So give each one a condition. "Only when status changes to shipped" - not "whenever an order updates." And never let a workflow update the record that triggers it. That's how you build an infinite loop
Not joking I'm everything I have seen made with stuff like "base44" ect all have auth vulns
Most operators I talk to are stuck in lovable or base44. They built something but can't get it into production or sell it. My goal is to make operators dangerous with AI skills so they build real apps and make more money. I show them the full process. #AI #Business
Kewl! Could you guys just allocate one human to read my support ticket? I’ve been trying to throw money at you for 2 weeks

What are the alternatives to Base44?
People weigh Base44 against two kinds of alternative, in equal numbers: other app builders, with Lovable named most by 2 people, and building with Claude directly, also 2 people. At this size the comparison talk is a handful of voices, not a trend.
Lovable is the name in the same breath as Base44, either as the pair of tools chasing the same biz-op market or as two builders with the same limit: whether they keep the codebase unless you pay for a plan, with Framer put alongside them.
Claude is weighed both ways. One says Base44, Replit and Lovable are useless and that they just use Claude Code on any 16GB machine, pushing to GitHub and hosting on Railway for about $5 a month; another says Base44's free tier is quite nice but does not measure up to the paid Claude version. One of the reception posts has Claude working alongside Base44 on a startup rather than standing in for it.
The smallest view is that the tool does not matter: a user says they built with Base44 and the same idea could be done with any tool, so there is no need to tie yourself to this one.
- Lovable2
- Claude2
- Any tool would do1

Well, I am doing it full time. And to be fair, I tried Base44 and Lovable before all of that for maybe 8-10 weeks until I realized u are not able to build a real software product with those tools. Perhaps it has changed now, but back then, no chance. And also dont waste too much time testing tools; just commit to one of the frontiers and then go. You can test forever...
What is Framer even better for? Isn’t it limited like Lovable and Base44, meaning they keep the codebase unless you pay a plan?
Replit is honestly useless. Same with Lovable 2 and Base44. I just use Claude Code. Any Mac or PC with 16 gigs of RAM can vibe code any app. Put it on GitHub, host it on Railway for about $5 a month, and your team can log in anytime. #AI #Coding
Base44 (kostenloses Level) ist zumindest auch ganz nett… aber reicht nicht an Claude Bezahlversion ran Teilweisw animiert

What do people ask about Base44?
The largest group of askers, 3 people, want the free access code for the Contra $10K Build Challenge — how to get it, how to redeem it, or what to do because the email never arrived. The rest ask what Base44 is, whether to try it, or for a tutorial.
The challenge questions are short and directed at the brand's account: "how do we get the code to redeem?", "how can I get credit?, the code to use?". One entrant explains they signed up for the $10K Build Challenge on Contra, checked spam, and still has no access code with the deadline close — twice in one day.
The evaluation questions come from people on the outside. One asks whether anyone has tried Base44 and would recommend it; another, replying to a thread, asks simply what it was.
The last pair wants to see the work rather than the pitch: someone who bought hardware and saw that its companion phone app was "a base44 coded app" asks for that app to be shared because they cannot find a good one in the Play Store, and another asks for a tutorial on how a Base44-made project was put together.
Nobody asks about pricing tiers, limits or exporting in this batch.
