If your customers are 40+ and you run a lot of facebook placements, one of the easiest ways to increase cvr is to add fb comments as proof on your pdp and pre-sell pages. This is how to do it at scale, without manually finding and screenshotting every comment: Connect claude or codex to meta ads mcp and apify mcp - meta finds your ad url’s, apify scrapes the comments. Give it your ad account and landing page url, then tell it which product or angle to focus on. Have it shortlist the strongest social proof: people sharing results, overcoming objections, or explaining why they bought again. Pick the ones you want and ask it to build a comment section using 1-on-1 fb ui - give it a screenshot for reference. Add it to your pages and see cvr go up 📈
Apify on X
Reception is warm and practical: as many people vouch for Apify outright as describe a real job it delivered. Cheap runs and the $5 monthly credits are a smaller thread, price at scale is the fault line, and building your own pipeline is the alternative named most.

How do people feel about Apify?
Reception is warm and split level between two kinds of praise: 29 people call Apify the best, their go-to or recommend it outright, and 28 describe real jobs on it that deliver. 9 more point to cheap runs and the $5 monthly credits; the 6 who have soured name price.
"An army of devs at your disposal" is how one enthusiast puts it; others call it their go-to for most crawls, reliable and easy to scale, and hand it to people asking how to get social data into an agent. Workflow praise is concrete: pulling TikTok competitor posts to find hooks, X posts to train a writing skill, Facebook comments as social proof on product pages, Google reviews to compare local businesses, LinkedIn job ads and SEC Form D filings into lead lists, Reddit and YouTube data, map businesses with no website. Store Actors come up as the reason — a ready-made one means not building collection from scratch.
Price is the second lever: the $5 monthly free credits come up repeatedly, with an X scrape at about $0.00022 a post, a weekly six-platform competitor run at about $1, and businesses at $0.08 per 1,000. Against that, a smaller group has turned away, calling it "freaking expensive", complaining of pricing changes every week, or asking why pay when you can build your own; one found another tool at a fraction of what they had paid. Two recommend it while warning that unused credits expire at month end and that Twitter data stays incomplete.

How to start growing your app on TikTok, PART 2 (all organic, no ads) My TikToks get me ~2M views a month. How? I monitor my competitors. In PART 1 I said: just steal from them. Here's how I do it: 1. Find your competitors > App Store: search your keywords, check your category > Your TikTok feed. Warm up on your audience's content and it starts showing them to you > Search #<appname>partner and #<appname>ambassador. That's their creator program 2. Pull their content > Make a list of their accounts > Give it to Claude + Apify TikTok scraper > You get every post: views, likes, comments, date, slides > ~$0.002 per post. Apify's free plan gives you $5 every month 3. Split it into formats > Claude looks at the slides and sorts everything by format > Learn each format: what they have in common, why they go viral > Understand why the hook works. That's already 90% of the win 4. What to look at > Winners only: 3x the account's median views > Where and how they put the app: slide, caption, comments, bio link > How often they post > How long they've been doing it. Months on the same app = it probably pays > Did they stop? One app ran 44 accounts. All 44 went quiet > Comments = conversion 5. Pick and adapt > Go through it all by eye > Pick what fits your audience > Adapt it to your app -------------------------------- Next parts: > How do I automate content production with Claude? > How do I test what's working and what's not? > When should I hire creators or start TikTok ads? And more! Follow so you don't miss them!
Apify is one of the greatest sites I ever used. It's like having an army of devs at your disposal. Love it. And it is CZ-made! 🇨🇿
Or you can sign up Apify, it has free tier with $5 credits each month. With costs $0.08 per 1,000 businesses, you can scrape 62,500 businesses per month for free. link
Man, Apify has gotten freaking expensive -- and I get "pricing changes" from them every-single-week

What do people complain about with Apify?
No single complaint dominates: the largest, at 4 people, is that selling Actors is the hard part — runs and free-plan users but no paying ones. Three themes are level at 3 people each: cost and opaque pricing, Actor settings and results misbehaving, and missing Twitter and bookmark data.
The seller complaint is about money, not traffic: one builder of eight Actors with over 4,500 runs reports $0.00 earned, and another notes that most first Actors "stall" at the selling half. Free-plan abuse is named too — someone created 300-plus accounts to burn a publisher's credits, and another refreshes analytics to find "another free plan user".
Pricing is called "freaking expensive" and "WAY more expensive at scale", especially with the MCP, with one person getting "pricing changes" every single week. The plumbing draws precise reports: 26 of 100 Actors had defaulted fields marked required, so an agent's call gets rejected; duplicate listings, a skip-ahead setting returning the identical people twice, and a usage counter that climbed to $1.25 while no task ran. Twitter is the data gap — "no trae todos los datos" — and bookmarks are not reachable at all. At 2 people, loading the full MCP server costs about 6.5k tokens of schemas per connection, 3.6k per turn; signup needs a developer account and one billing page rejected every format of a street address; unused credits expire at month end.
- Hard to sell Actors4
- Costly and confusing pricing3
- Actor settings and results misbehave3
- Missing Twitter and bookmark data3
- Charges don't match runs2
- MCP schemas eat tokens2

1/ week 1 recap of my AI-run scraper business (8 apify actors, all built and run by my AI). outside runs in 30d: 29 on fri -> 77 today total runs: 4,562 paying users: 0 earned: $0.00 compute: $3.32 of $5
Someone is tried to create 300+ @apify accounts and use my free plan credits. They have been doing this for months, and didn't have anything to do but watch. Contacted Apify before, they just disables those accounts, and scammers create more. Then I took it to my ego, and found a good solution(with Claude bro obv.): for every free users, I use a consumer on @reqkey, each person gets their credits, but within the last 30 seconds if any other free plan users were created new ones are auto disabled. This worked! Just blocked 300+ fake accounts created within 4 mins. Never thought @reqkey would be so much helpful for my API business.

26 of my 100 apify actors had input fields marked required that also had a default. Over MCP an agent is told those fields are optional, then the call gets rejected for leaving them out. The daily test never caught it because it always sends the prefill. Do you mark defaulted fields required, yes or no?
Apify es lo mejor del mundo, pero para Twitter no trae todos los datos

What are the alternatives to Apify?
The main alternative people weigh is doing it themselves: 5 people say they build and host their own scraper or pipeline rather than pay, and 3 run on official or native access first and call Apify only when blocked. 2 more point to unnamed rival tools said to match it for less; the named products are each one person's pick.
Building it yourself is argued on cost: "Why pay for apify when you can build your own?" Others price their own stack — one runs up to 500k contacts a month on a home-made MCP with Claude and says their process beats "des geants comme APIFY"; another checks AWS Lambda for background removal to see if it comes out cheaper. The counterweight is effort: a native n8n HTTP node covers pages that don't need unblocking, with Apify Web Fetch only as the fallback, and official access avoids friction — one person says the official route wins for X research because Apify "no toca bookmarks" while a browser or VM adds steps and maintenance to keep running.
The named tools split both ways, one person each. Socialcrawl is said to have saved "a ton of money" over five months; Bright Data and Jina AI come up as alternatives for reviews and for search-and-scrape; Snowball and Treg are weighed on cost; UserGems is the costly incumbent Apify displaces for tracking job-changers. But Phantombuster is kept only for LinkedIn-login actions, with Apify doing the profile scraping, and one person recommends Apify over Grokbot to avoid getting banned.

Why pay for apify when you can build your own?
Most scraping workflows pay for unblocking on every single page. Plenty of pages don’t need it. Try the n8n native HTTP node first, fall back to Apify Web Fetch only when it gets blocked. link
I’ve been using socialcrawl for the last 5 months, it’s been great and saved me a ton of money vs apify

Questions· 8 posts· written 27 Oct
What do people ask about Apify?
Questions are few and split level: 3 people ask what it costs or whether it is free, 3 ask which Actor to use and how to get one running, and 2 ask whether Apify or a named rival is the better choice for their case.
Cost questions are blunt — "is apify free?" — and go beyond the headline: one asks how a job on it prices against AWS when more performance is needed, and another asks what free request volume Apify serves now versus premium, which the free-$5-a-month posts don't answer.
The how-to questions are practical: which Apify automation someone used for a given job, how to set a LinkedIn scraper up on a VPS, and, from a builder working with the MCP, whether an agent finds Actors through a search tool first or sees them in tools/list after a call — the same token-cost question the MCP complaints raise from the other side.
The comparison questions come in both directions: someone asks how a tool differs from Apify at all, and someone else asks a peer flatly which is better, Apify or the alternative being discussed. Nobody asks about the Store itself, publishing, or credits expiring.
- Does it cost anything?3
- Which Actor, and how to run it3
- Which one is better?2

so about 3.6x the filesystem server's 14 tools. does the agent find actors through a search tool first, or do they show up in tools/list after a call?

What do people want from Apify?
One person asks for an open-source version: a repo of their own for tools like Apify, Hunter and Apollo. That is the only wish filed this period, so nothing can be said about what people want beyond it.
The request is for reverse engineering and an "open source repo" of these products — Apify named alongside Hunter.io and Apollo — with no stated reason beyond wanting the code. It is a wish for the capability itself, self-hostable or inspectable, not a complaint about price or a feature gap.
With one post from one person, this says nothing about how widely the want is shared: it is one person's ask, and the other sections carry the rest of what people want changed — billing that works, Twitter and bookmark data that can be reached, cheaper runs at scale.
